Engage!12 The Breakers Palm Beach, Florida

In December 2012, Engage! returned to legendary The Breakers, Palm Beach with 250 guests and 36 speakers, for the largest event to date. The event branding and gifting was Sophisticated Citrus inspired by Florida’s orange groves with a shot of innovation, and a twist for all five senses.  The Breakers Design Studio team again wowed, showcasing a different side of the property with a playful orange, silver and white color scheme, and a southern-themed kickoff party, held under a glass tent on the Ocean Lawn.

Inspired session breaks included an orange-hued citrus showcase and a state-fair themed break with cotton candy, funnel cakes and other novelty treats. After the dine-arounds in The Breakers award-winning restaurants, guests returned to the Mediterranean Courtyard, transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with falling snow, ice-themed desserts and a surprise appearance from the (real!) Rockettes.

Speaking of kicks, there were plenty from the speakers. Brides’ newest EIC Keija Minor talked about how to get noticed, Liene Stevens shared insights on the millennial market and Colin Cowie summed up the industry: “[We] get paid to spend other people’s money to make people happy — what could be better?”Town&Country’s Pamela Fiore talked about building a reputation, and the debut appearance by NYC society’s planning doyenne Harriette Rose Katz made the NY Post’s Page Six.

The Farewell Gala was a testament to all things love related with oversized floral XO’s hung in the Circle Ballroom along with a giant floral “Love” and a gospel choir from Elan Artists that kicked off the “All You Need is Love” theme. A four-course plated dinner was followed by a decadent after party in the Mediterranean Ballroom that had been transformed into an Ibiza-style nightclub for the occasion.

Engage!12 was the most fabulously run event I have ever been to. It ran like clockwork and was packed with great information, wonderful camaraderie and whole lot of fun.

One of the most valuable aspects of Engage! us the spirit of creative collaboration it fosters. It is a real testament to what they they have created that the events can further even the businesses of industry icons.
