- Business Coaches & Owners, Ideaction Consulting
Katy and Sam Jacobson are sales, pricing and copywriting experts who help wedding pros fill their calendars with ideal clients who pay higher prices.
But Sam wasn’t born a business coach, and Katy didn’t always write website copy – both got their start selling directly to high-end couples.
Katy built her career in venues and catering, culminating with a 14-year stint as Director of Catering at Four Seasons in Dallas, Texas. In 2018, she started writing conversion copy for wedding pros’ websites.
Sam led sales for eight years at the top wedding destination venue in the Pacific NW before directing operations in luxury floral, design and production for Todd Events. Now, to stay sharp and get the edge for clients, he studies applied behavioral economics at Texas A&M’s Human Behavior Lab.
Over the past 5+ years, they’ve offered business coaching and copywriting services based on scientific principles of persuasion. They know what triggers your perfect buyers. And, more importantly, how to communicate sales and marketing messages that will convert them into clients.
Katy and Sam live on San Juan Island, Washington, with their two kiddos, several chickens, and their fluffy dog, Sophie. When not helping clients grow their businesses, they travel the world searching for the perfect bite of burrata.
This is Katy’s 10th Engage!, and 1st time speaking. Sam’s attended 15 Engage!, and shared ideas at four.
Fun fact: Katy and Sam met at Engage! in 2014 and married four years later on the exact date they fell in love in Grand Cayman.
If you see either of them, ask them the difference between conversion copy and other approaches.

Soul Happy’s founders, Tracy Zboril, M.S.W., and Cara Hewett, M.A., are both seasoned therapists who have been practicing in the field, in private practice, hospitals and clinics, for over 40 years collectively. After working with clients for decades, looking deep into how their past disappointments have had such negative impacts on their lives, the pair became frustrated with the barriers the psychotherapy industry faced. Since the beginning of their careers, they were trained in traditional therapeutic models, which can be time-consuming and costly with results that are often unsustainable. The two felt there needed to be a better way to help their clients get rid of the feelings that are holding them back from reaching their full potential.
Until recently, the psychotherapy industry did not fully understand how minds process and store memories. Within the past 10 to 12 years, there were major breakthroughs in neuroscience that Tracy and Cara utilized to develop, practice and enhance what is now the Soul Happy Technique®.

Shira is a seasoned bridesmaid, and a sucker for a great first dance song, anything calligraphed, breathtaking photographs, family heirlooms, and a well-made cocktail. Her love of all things bridal began in elementary school when she dressed up as a bride for Halloween in a “gown” made by her mother.
Professionally, she is the former Real Weddings Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings, where she spent more than a decade immersing herself in all things weddings. Styling, producing, curating, and writing about real weddings provided her with the foundation for what she now does through her own consulting company. Since starting shiramisu, she has continued working in media, contributing to MSW, Harper’s Bazaar, Domino, and Carats & Cake. And she has traveled the country to style weddings with an editorial perspective and the desire to tell each couple’s story.
Even though she’s seen (and heard and written) about her fair share of weddings, it never gets old. Because she loves weddings, and the people who make them happen. Now she’s all about connecting with and supporting those people, working with them in a multitude of ways like portfolio reviews, website audits, gallery curation, and on-site styling. Shira keeps it real no matter what—be it with a round of honest feedback or encouragement, or some hardcore brainstorming. Because the only thing that should be coated in sugar in the world of weddings is the cake.
