Stephanie Cain-Freelance Journalist

Journalist & Storytelling Strategist

Stephanie Cain is a journalist and storytelling strategist in the lifestyle space, who has 14 years of experience as a magazine editor, digital producer, content marketer, and public speaker. She focuses on weddings and wine, having worked on staff at The Knot, Wine Spectator, and Elite Traveler. Her byline has appeared in The New York Times, Fortune, Brides, Vinepair, People, Afar, PureWow, Esquire, Hamptons, and Specialty Food News, and she has been a featured wedding expert on CNBC, Bloomberg, NPR, CBS Los Angeles, and MSN.com, among others. In the past three years, Stephanie has pivoted her much of her writing to business journalism, covering the $80 billion wedding industry and the $360 billion wine industry in the U.S.

Through her work at lifestyle publications, e-commerce companies, and venture-backed startups, she has gained adept knowledge of how to grow brands online using storytelling as a tool to drive consumer action. As a storytelling strategist, Stephanie consults with publicity agencies and venture capitalist firms to curate the best angles for pitching a brand, product, or portfolio company to an intended audience. This includes adapting to and taking advantage of new platforms in the changing media landscape. Storytelling, after all, transcends medium.

Additionally, she is a sommelier accredited by both the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (Level III), a fundraiser for the New York Junior League, and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. She holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University and lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with her husband, Vik, and daughter, Phoenix.
